The product, in the report: Duracraft Corp. (Portable heater) Model CZ-308 120V 12.5 Amps 1500watts
My name is Detective [REDACTED] and I work for the City of Pittsburgh [REDACTED}. We had a fire on Dec. 6, 2011 at [REDACTED]. The fire involved the below recalled heater. The heater had been left plugged in and unattended for around 5 hours. The fire took place in an elderly female’s apartment in a large senior apartment complex. The inside obviously overheated and caught fire. Fortunately there was nothing close by so there was no fire extension and the heater only caused minor to moderate smoke damage to the apartment. There were no injuries that resulted from the fire. We have the maintenance personnel of the bldg securing the heater and will obtain it should you like to pick it up since its included in a recall.
The specific model we had is listed below Duracraft Corp. Model CZ-308 120V 12.5 Amps 1500watts 10/89
