The product, in the report: Electric Fireplace Insert

Just notice that the electric fireplace insert wall plug has melted into the surge protector it was plugged into. There are brown marks on surge protector, as in fire hazard. The other night I thought I smelled something burning. I did. It was this. This is a Southern Enterprise Item # FA5123. It was purchased 11/11/2021 through Kohls as a bundle transaction with Kohls SKU # 92374415 Abbey Cherry Finish Convertible Media Console Electric Fireplace

The product, in the report: Electric Fireplace

I purchased an electric fireplace in late January 2015. In November 2016, less than 2 years after purchase, the plug on the fireplace started a small fire in my home. I contacted the vendor, southern Enterprises who have not responded since the initial contact. I am not sure how many of these products were sold, but the company appears to be unconcerned with the potential danger it can cause.
