The product, in the report: Comfort Glow Fire Place Insert with heater - sits in firepleace and is an electric heater with a flickering light for realistic fire effect with a remote control
Comfort Glow Electric Fireplace Insert with Heater Model ELCG240 sold by World Marketing of America 7034 Juniata Valley Pike Petersburg, PA 16669
This product when plugged in and on any setting involving the heater makes the plug and cord so hot it will burn your fingers when trying to unplug it. When its turned off after use it heats the house wiring up so hot that it trips the breaker just from the heat of the cord transferring it. It appears that its a direct short on the wiring and therefore a safety issue. It could very easily catch fire from the high temperature of the wire and plug in the wall. I advised the company selling them from China and they basically sent me a new one but its exactly the same problem. There is some sort of design problem that isnt managing the electricity properly.
