The product, in the report: It is a Google Nest Learning Thermostat
My 9 month old Google Nest Thermostat turned my natural gas fired furnace on, and would not turn it off. The way I got the furnace to stop was by unplugging the thermostat from its base. Essentially, the thermostat put mu furnace in a runaway condition. I believe this created a very unsafe condition that possibly could have led to fire, or, had it cracked the heat exchanger, led to a carbon monoxide condition. There was no known damage, or injury, but that is due to me being at home and able not disconnect the thermostat.
