The product, in the report: Mysa Smart Thermostat for Electric Baseboard Heaters 240V | Remote Control with 100% Free APP. Model BB.2.0.01.NA-US. White 1 x Mysa for Electric Baseboard Heaters V2 Thermostat, 1 x Welcome Booklet, 2 x Mounting Screws, 3 x Wire Nuts, 1 x Wiring Instructions Rectangular
I purchased and installed a Mysa Smart Thermostat for Electric Baseboard Heaters 240V in my basement for electric baseboard heating control in October 2025. This morning, the thermostat suddenly took off and ramped up the temperature of the room uncontrollably despite no change on the unit. No one was using the unit directly, it did this on its own. The only way to stop the heat output was cutting the power to the heaters - changing the settings in the app or unit had no impact. We are leaving for vacation in a few hours but luckily we noticed before we left -I fear that if this had happened a few hours later, or while we were sleeping, it could have started a fire. I have a screenshot showing what appears to be an out of control PID loop caused by the thermostat. Fortunately no one was injured but in different circumstances they could have been.
