The product, in the report: R H Peterson Reatfyre unvented gas log set
This is correspondence I sent to [REDACTED] 1/7/22 and to the dealer 12/21/21. We bought a Realfyre Golden Oaks setup from Escapes and More in Lawton Oklahoma in 2016. Since it was installed and to the current year, we have had to have the gas line repacked every single year. This year we used the same plumbing service that we used ;last year, but a different plumber came out. He finally showed us for the first time that the line has an inner "nut" that turns at the same time the gas is turned on and off. Hence, the gas leak. We have had the people at Escapes and More come out to service it several times and their work is worthless, plus they did not know about the inner tube turning at the same time as the gas being turned on and off. This has gone from the gas company coming out two different years, including this one, to turn off our gas. We have been told the bricks surrounding the fireplace have to be removed and replace the entire gas line, $10,000, or replace the gasoline with a bypass, $500, etc. I think Escapes and More installed this thing improperly to begin with or installed a defective device. I cannot believe your company would have a product that can cause gas explosions or poisoning occupants without knowing this is a significant liability to you. Since we are once again hoping to use the unit without being killed, I was hoping for a response from you about dealing with this ongoing problem. Now that I have documented this problem to you, I assume you know liability is clearly established if we have further problem. i look forward to hearing from your company.
