The product, in the report: 34000 BTU Electronic Remote Gas Fireplace
The consumer says that the fireplace came on by itself. He thought he was sitting on the remote but he was not. He hit the off button on the remote but the unit stayed on. The emergency handle to shut off the gas. His concern is that if he had not been by the unit it could have done damage. The consumer contacted the number in the instruction manual which was for the retailer.
