The product, in the report: Gas fireplace insert
Dealer called and told us their might be a gas leak in the valve. I contacted the manufacturer and they said they are discussing what to do with the CPSC. They told us to either keep the pilot lit all the time or shut the gas off totally. We have been afraid to use the fireplace. Apparently in 2007 and 2008 they had a recall with a similar problem. It is now 9 months and there is no fix announced. The fireplace is the 1080 Clean Face made by Fireplace Xtraordinaire owned by Travis Industries. Can you help me?
