The product, in the report: 2024 Can-Am Defender 6x6 limited HD10, fiery red

I had just bought a 2024 Can-Am defender 6x6 limited on a Tuesday evening, by that Wednesday evening after not even having for 24hours I drove it down to my mail box down a hard packed snow road. Right before I got to my mailbox the battery light came on and the voltage was reading 10.1. When I was backing away from my mailbox the voltage had dropped to 9.4 and the machine cut off. After trying to restart it a couple time and was not getting anything I got out and noticed a fire under the bed on the passenger side right behind the cab. I contacted my dealer and we submitted an investigation to BRP and after 2 weeks they said it is not a manufacture defect. After that I got to doing some searching and have found out that, that is where the voltage regulator is located and there has been quite a few people that have had them start smoking after only driving the machine for a short time. Luckily I was the only one in the machine and did not get injured, but was out of breath after running to a neighbors house to get a fire extinguisher to try and put it out
