The product, in the report: Red Honda Rancher AT-[REDACTED]
Honda Rancher AT [REDACTED] ATV will sometimes get caught in between gears and not shift up/down. Rocking ATV will not “jar” it into gear. Owners manual does not specifically address the situation. Only remedy is to turn the machine off/on and then try shifting into neutral for a restart. If ATV must be stopped on an incline this causes an unsafe condition having to maintain position on an incline while simultaneously turning machine off/on and attempting restart and then shifting. Honda Corporate states that unless the machine is stopped in first gear this situation may occur and there is nothing they can do about it. Stopping in first gear is not always possible/practical especially when traversing inclines. Honda Corporate refuses to provide any documentation to this effect or to our numerous conversations stating that all correspondence is for internal use only. Potential for loss of control and/or uncontrolled descent and rollover of vehicle and passengers on an incline is a distinct possiblity.
