The product, in the report: 2024 Zhejiang Qiye Scooter Co., LTD Coolster Mountopz-110 ATV-3050C. Blue with white looking like a spiderweb. Wheelbase: 850mm, Dimensions: 1,270 x 700 x 840mm
I purchased a new 2024 Coolster 110cc ATV from a dealer on 5/2/26. The first day we started it and rode it was 5/7/26. It was used only three times for a total of less than 1 hour before the incident. On Saturday, 5/9/26, my son was riding the ATV within a boundary I had given him so I could watch closely and push the kill switch on the remote if needed. He rode past the boundary so I pushed the kill switch on the remote to stop the ATV. The ATV stopped and my son said it wouldn’t slow down and he couldn’t stop. When I attempted to restart the ATV, it immediately was full throttle on its own. The ATV pulled me to the ground and drug me causing injuries. I was able to pull myself and the ATV up onto its back wheels to gain some control of it to hit the kill switch on the handlebars. On Monday, 5/11/26, I called the dealer to report the safety issue and request a refund. I was advised nothing could be done until I brought the ATV in for an inspection by a certified mechanic. I haven’t brought it in as I did not want the current state of the ATV to be changed until reported to the CPSC. I pushed the ATV back into the garage and have not started it or touched anything on it since the incident.
