The product, in the report: - Smith Variance MIPS Snow Helmet - Men’s - Size: medium, color: Matte Fire Split - Bought from REI in 2019

    - Smith Variance Snow Helmet - In a ski resort, I was buckling in the chin strap of the helmet and gave it a light tug to test it and the strap pulled off. Nothing actually looks broken in the chin strap/buckle system, but a light pull was able to pull the strap fully through the buckle. I tried looping the strap through but there doesn’t seem to be enough friction to make the strap “catch” and stay on when being pulled. The plastic buckle that “clicks” into place seems fine itself. - I was not injured since I discovered this during lunch at the resort but the strap cannot be trusted to hold the helmet in place.
