No one hurt Made Nov 30, 2014, sent to the company Dec 11, 2014, published by CPSC Dec 29, 2014
The product, in the report: Sevylor brand River Racer inflatable rubber tubes. The recalled tubes are black, 36 inches in diameter and about 15 inches tall. Each tube seats one person. The tubes have the Sevylor logo and name, and the River Racer logo and name printed in blue on the outer side. Model number 2000014090
I purchased about 10-12 of these tubes from Walmart for various use for the kids at our lake house in the summer. After using some of them on the lake on several different occasions some of the kids broke out in a rash. It was never anything life threatening just a huge inconvenience and made for not so happy kids. I assumed the kids were just allergic to them, although it seemed odd because it was a few different kids from different families. Either way, I ended up throwing all of them out. A waste of about $300. I didn’t think much of it and my wife was looking stuff up online and she came across the recall. I am not really looking to get anything out of it, I mean what’s done is done and we instead just purchased different tubes, but I thought I should report on it as well so others would know. I don’t blame the company, these things happen and I don’t really understand how this happens with a product like this, but that is life. Thank you for listening to me share my thoughts and experience.
