The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Feb 25, 2014, sent to the company Mar 5, 2014, published by CPSC Mar 20, 2014

The product, in the report: Weslo Momentum CT 5.9 Elliptical Model WLEL32909.0 Serial CC500G11302 DOM 04/11WB

Axle broke on elliptical exercise machine causing pedal and consumer to fall to floor. Part number for the axle is 279789. From my research, it appears to be a common failed part. Examination shows the part failed at a point just beyond the screw threads. It appears to be some sort of torsional metal fatigue. There was no warning of the failure in any way.

Made Sep 25, 2013, sent to the company Oct 21, 2013, published by CPSC Nov 4, 2013

The product, in the report: It is a Weslo Momentum G 3.1 elliptical machine. It is light gray and dark gray, and has a calorie, time, and distance counter.

My wife was using the Weslo Elliptical Exercise Machine and the frame underneath snapped and the handle went forward and my wife fell off the machine. The frame split between where the handlebar and the front base that sits on the floor. it pushed the front of the machine up. I called Weslo and they won’t help with it. It is 1 1/2 years old and they said the warranty expired, but that part of the frame was not a covered part. The frame actually cracked. That should not happen.
