The product, in the report: Thane Fitness Orbitrek Platinum elliptical machine
I was using an elliptical cross trainer named Orbitrek Platinum made by Thane Fitness yesterday and the whole steel bolt broke off, thus causing the pedal to break off and I fell flat on my butt. Fortunately, I just have minor bruising and am a little sore, but I didn’t break any bones. A 3/4 inch steel bolt shouldn’t break off, so there seems to be some sort of product deficiency. I called Thane Fitness customer service today 10/1 for them to advise on any recalls. The customer service rep said they no longer sell that product and that there were no recalls. However I located a 2009 recall for a similar machine on your website. I personally know of at least one other person that regularly uses this product and it is concerning to me that the representative didn’t care and wouldn’t escalate my issue.
