The product, in the report: Redge Portable Home Gym with 240 lb resistance
We received the Redge Fit Portable Gym with 8 bands which should provide a total of 240Lb of resistance. Upon minutes of using the product in the living room with minimal use (approximately 10 pulls) one of the bands snapped and broke in half. The snapped band whipped towards my boyfriend and luckily it did not hit him or hurt anyone. When contacting the vendor they have advised the following:
“We are sorry to hear that the bands you purchased from us broke. We recommend not to release the resistance band while under tension.
A release under tension can cause the band to snap back toward you and result in significant injury. Begin all exercises slowly to ensure band strength. We don’t recommend stretching the bands past 2.5 times in length (~300 cm) as it may cause early fatigue and product failure.”
However, in the videos and photos it does show an user pulling the band beyond these limits. Nor did it have any disclaimers to state this information within or on the package. This put us at extreme risk of being hurt! This product should be able to withstand significant pull and does not seem it is following the US protocols or regulations. I am extremely concerned other users will face this issue and will be hurt.
