The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made Sep 22, 2025, sent to the company Sep 29, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 25, 2025

The product, in the report: This recall involves Precor-branded Resolute Cable Multi-Station exercise equipment, Model No. RMS905, sold to gyms. The exercise equipment includes an adjustable pulley carriage that allows users to perform cable resistance exercises from different heights along a vertical rail. The brand name Precor is located above the vertical rail and Model No. RMS905 is printed on a label on the underside of the pulley assemblys top frame, between the vertical rail and the weight stack. The exercise equipment measures 68 inches x 58 inches x 94 inches, has either a silver, black or white frame, and multiple upholstery options.

The issue as described on your website. We have 3 Model No. RMS905. The pop-pin can fail to fully engage in the exercise equipment’s vertical rail and cause the pulley carriage to drop unexpectedly during use, posing an impact injury hazard to users. This happened twice with the first one causing a serious laceration to a patrons head...EMS was called and they were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The product, in the report: Precor DPLO624 Squat Machine. This Precor Discovery Series Plate Loaded Squat Machine is used to perform squat exercises with varying amounts of weight.

I was using a Precor DPLO624 Squat Machine when a rod end bearing (heim joint) on the upper part of the machine catastrophically failed. The upper part of the machine fell on my left arm, fracturing my elbow. I have recently learned of a similar incident at the [REDACTED] Gym in Novi, Michigan.

The machine that injured me was new when my fitness club ([REDACTED]) opened in December 2018. It failed in June 2019.

The machine was repaired following the incident and is located at [REDACTED],[REDACTED], Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301.

I have photographs of the machine and failed part that I can share by email if contacted.

The product, in the report: Precor 119 Superbench - I have detailed pictures of the failure, but am unable to upload them using your system.

A 43 yo male 5’5” in stature was performing incline bench presses with an 85 lb dumbbell in each hand. During his exercise the subject weight bench seat back collapsed without warning and during normal use injuring the male. I recently reviewed the “fix” for the design/manufacturing defect and it does not appear to me that the “fix” is a valid one. It is my belief that failures may still occur in the field under normal use and without warning. I am a Professional Engineer registered in the State of New York and a Board Certified Forensic Engineer.

Child fell on moving treadmill. Treadmill dragged child under treadmill. Child’s hand was caught between belt and roller. The treadmill kept running until an adult stopped it. The belt should stop if something is blocking it.

The product, in the report: The Super Squat simulates a variety of lower-body squatting exercises without the use of a free-weight bar.

On Monday-July 20, 2015 at approximately 9:00 a.m.-my husband was using a Precor Super Squat. He had 810 pounds loaded on the device (9 x 45 lb plates per side), he had completed his exercise set and pressed the pedal which is supposed to place the safety catch in place.

He proceeded to lower the weight, however, the safety was not in place as he expected. With his right leg forward and his left leg in line with his body, 810 pounds came down and forced him into a rapid squat. His left leg bore the brunt of an 810 pound squat.

The result is a quadriceps tendon that is 80% ruptured and a patellar tendon that has yet to be determined damage. He will be undergoing surgery in the near future (next week or so) to repair the significant damage to his left leg.

He has used this piece of equipment many times and is quite familiar with its operation. This injury did not happen as a result of inexperience.

The product, in the report: Precor model 9.27 treadmill

The deck broke and I fell injuring myself. The repair man said that instead of a recall Precor simply fixes the broken decks. The replaced the deck with a larger one. All the repair parts are under a single part no. as a “deck kit”. Precor simply pays to fix them and I don’t think they report injuries of you guys would recall the product. It is a Precor 9.27.
