The product, in the report: Rowing Machine

In January 2012, I purchased a Neptune AR Fluid Rower (First Degree Fitness product) from Creative Playthings in Acton, MA. They did not have one on display. I asked the sales representative about the seat and he said I would like it, very comfortable.

CPT delivered and assembled my rower about a week later. I was uncomfortable on the seat from the beginning. My insides would burn even after a brief rowing session. I think it was late February when I had a problem with the rowing part of the unit. Twice the cord came off the wheel causing the rower to stop and putting me on the floor. This was when I contacted Creative Playthings and told them about this problem. I did not mention the seat at this point. They did agree to take the rower back even though I was beyond the 30-day return policy. They charged me a 20% restocking fee, but I was happy to have them come for the rower.

I tried it a couple of more times but the seat hurt everything so much, I just didn’t try again. I did tell them about this problem and I also contacted First Degree Fitness. I didn’t hear from either one.

In early March I went for my annual physical and found out I had some blood in my urine (first time ever). My doctor sent me to a Urogynecologist. She said I was very irritated. I showed her a picture of the rower seat and she said it wasn’t designed for the female anatomy. I had a number of tests and everything is fine now, but I have a feeling that this problem, while maybe not a direct result of the rower, certainly it was part of the problem.
