The product, in the report: A heavy-duty steel gym fitness rack / squat rack designed for home workouts. The equipment is coated in black powder finish, consisting of steel tubes, framing, and load-bearing weld joints used to hold weights.
During standard home use, the structural steel welding on a fitness gym rack completely cracked and sheared apart. This is a severe product manufacturing defect that creates an immediate, catastrophic structural collapse risk. Because the fractured weld is located on a main load-bearing joint of the heavy fitness equipment, it poses a severe, life-threatening injury hazard to anyone nearby if it collapses completely under weight.
No injuries have occurred yet, but the potential for severe physical harm or crushing injury is extremely high. The product was purchased on Walmart.com from a marketplace seller. The seller has completely ignored the safety issue and is unreachable. Furthermore, Walmart’s customer support team was contacted (Case Ref # [REDACTED]) but refused to take appropriate corporate safety action, failed to escalate the case to a supervisor, and left a dangerously defective product unresolved.
