The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

Made Dec 19, 2011, sent to the company Dec 28, 2011, published by CPSC Jan 12, 2012

The product, in the report: ISO 7X Isometric Workout Bar ISO7X

I bought an Ontel ISO 7X Isometric Workout Bar and used it for exercise for three times, less than 10 minutes each.

On this occasion while pressing it down, with less than 70Lb force, the handle broke and spring and metal casing shot from the device flying across the room. The casing is metal but it is connected to the handle with plastic part, which for some reason just broke and there was nothing to prevent the big spring and metal casing to go flying.

It could have hit me or hit anyone standing near by. Could hurt a person on damage things in your place of workout.

This product is unsafe and should be recalled till the plastic connector is replaced with a metal connector and some safety feature is added to prevent the spring and bar from going flying.

I have provided the picture of broken device to seller but have not get any explanation on what they plan to do to protect others.
