The product, in the report: Link to product (Hydrow Pro Rower): https://hydrow.com/products/rowers/hydrow-rower/
In May 2021, I purchased a Hydrow rowing machine. In September 2023, there was leaking from the machine, which was addressed by Hydrow. In late February 2025, I noticed residue on the pull strap and promptly reported to Hydrow, who requested various information which I provided. On two separate occasions, I specifically requested instruction as to whether I should stop using the machine to prevent damage to the machine or personal injury. Hydrow provided no direction. In April 2025, while performing a rigorous workout, the strap suddenly broke, causing me to fall backwards and sustain personal injury. Hydrow did nothing to warn me or otherwise timely address this situation.
UPDATED ON 5/15/2025: [The singular most troubling aspect about this product is that THERE IS NOT A SINGLE WARNING ANYWHERE ON THE UNIT ITSELF. This was likely to maintain a clean aesthetic, which should not trump safety issues.
The manufacturer should be made to include a static warning either on the machine or a momentary warning on its large LED screen that would show during startup or before a workout starts that states:
WARNING: If at any time your rower has any performance issues (unusual resistance or drag) or if you see any fluid leaks on the ground or on your strap, IMMEDIATELY stop use and contact Hydrow support at ________.
This simple warning would have prevented my failure. Hydrow Customer Support failed to properly guide or warn me when I explicitly asked whether I should stop use of the machine to prevent damage to the machine or personal injury. ]
