Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Horizon T6 treadmill

I purchased a Horizon T6 treadmill Jan. 7, 2011. While I was on it one day, it suddenly accelerated to a high speed and shut itself off within a second or so. I managed to stay on the treadmill so did not sustain an injury. This happened within less than a year of the purchase date. The sporting goods store I bought it through repaired it by installing a new computer component (could have been the whole motherboard). I have been using it since without any problem until yesterday 4/30/13 when it suddenly accelerated again. I don’t think it shut itself off this time. I managed to jump to the sides and I think I may have hit the stop. Not sure since it happened so fast. Thankfully I had been holding on to the rails while walking so again did not get hurt. I am feeling MORE than leary about getting on a treadmill again! Have there been any problems reported with this treadmill. I looked for recalls but only saw one for 2000-2002 models.
