The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Danskin Ab Rower plus. I locked my feet into the foot straps and pulled on the bungee cord handles to do my very first attempt at exercising with this piece of equipment. The next thing I know I’m in pain...my nose had taken a very powerful hit, instant bruising and very swollen. My face had blood running down into my eye’s. The top of my head had been cut open and was bleeding. A huge knot on my head under the cut. Needless to say I was dizzy and off balance. The hook from the bottom of the bungee (where the foot straps hook to) broke on the second pull. I had been pulling with all my strength and let me say the hook and cord hit me so hard I thought my nose would be broke! Thank God it wasn’t. I took it back to where I bought it from “Wall-Mart”. They gave me a big Oh My and told me to contact the Danskin Company. I wrote and explanation to the company. I received an e-mail to call a number, No one answered so I left a message. I didn’t call back because I felt as though I had been through enough. I waited a couple of weeks and wrote another letter to Danskin expressing my disappointment in their lack of response and that I thought the Rower was not safe. Still have not heard from them. Nothing! This could have turned out a lot worse had the hook hit me in the eye or teeth. Next time it might do sever damage to some one else. Thank You, [redacted]
