The product, in the report: BodyFit by Sports Authority Resistance Fitness Kit (resistance bands) Sports Authority Item Number: 3472190 Medium/Red band snapped
Product name: BodyFit by Sports Authority Resistance Fitness Kit Product description: exercise resistance bands According to their website, this specific product’s Sports Authority item number is 3472190.
My girlfriend was performing a tricep extension utilizing the resistance band when one end of the red/medium band snapped out of its handle and struck her calf muscle, leaving a large bruise on her leg. She was using the kit in the manner described by the “fitness guide” included with the kit.
The product was purchased less than one month prior to this incident. None of the bands in the kit show any visible signs of wear and tear or fatigue.
After the incident I researched the product at Sports Authority’s website (see below) and found many negative reviews in which many consumers reported similar accidents, some resulting in physical harm.
