The product, in the report: Seaview 180 V3 Full Face Snorkel Mask Adult- The V3 is The Perfect Snorkeling Gear for Adults and Kids- Patented Flowtech Side Snorkel Design- Up to 600% Easier Breathing. Snorkeling Gear for Kids (Amazon Title)
My husband and I purchased two new Seaview 180 V3 Full Face Snorkel masks from Amazon on June 2, 2023. We used these on a Mexico Vacation in a cove with little to no waves viewing sea turtles June 15, 2023. Both of us almost passed out and could not make it back to shore. Luckily the guide noticed and was able to pull us back in where we could barely walk and my lungs hurt. I contacted the company the next day to explain what happened and see if there was something with the product or how we were using it that caused this. They insisted it was us or the ocean (ocean was very calm). Today I read about a study done in July 2020 where snorkels have been known to cause hypoxia by Rapid Onset Pulmonary Edema (ROPE). This company should have known about the study and it was irresponsible to not mention it as a possibility. Snorkelers die from this. I’m very concerned others may have similar issues with the product. We stopped using them after that one event because it was terrifying to slowly asphyxiate.
