Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Blue full face snorkel mask

While snorkling last week in waikkiki,HI. I was using the aqualung full face snorkel mask and became light headed and had a hard time breathing. I realized I was in trouble called for help and my friend pulled me to shore. I believe it was co-2. I started out fine and felt a sharp pain in my head and dizzy

  2. Hurt, no treatment

Made Mar 29, 2023, sent to the company May 1, 2023, published by CPSC May 22, 2023

The product, in the report: diving mask

The consumer’s 13-year-old son used the mask for less than 10 minutes in the ocean. He removed it a few times, but he later walked from ocean on to the beach and showed it to his father (the consumer). The glass portion of the mask had several cracks in it.

The consumer looked at the glass and touched it slightly with his hand. He cut his right index finger in the process. Blood emitted from his finger for a few minutes and stopped. There were a few slivers of glass in his finger, but he removed them.

This could have blinded his son!!!

He tried contacting the manufacturer but found that the company was bought out by Aqua Lung. He’s tried to contact that company through numerous methods. However, he could not reach them by email or phone. No response even as of April 14, 2023.

The product is bridged above the nose, which adds to the facial hazard. Single pane of glass, the small sectional area above bridge of nose appears to be a weak spot & stress riser.
