The product, in the report: Adjustable dumbell set (25lb tot wt) model #WSAW2505-K manufactured by Icon Health and Fitness
Adjustable dumbell set (25lb tot wt) model #WSAW2505-K came apart during use. Icon Health and Fitness would/does not provide the wrench to periodically tighten. I received the adjustable dumbbells model number WSAW2505-K as a gift 2 years ago. I began using them regularly about June 2011. On 9/11/11 while doing curls, one dumbbell separated, dropping half of the weights (3 rings) and a screw came off. Luckily it did not fall on me or break anything. I slid the piece back together and replaced the washer and screw, but did not have the tool to completely tighten it. I contacted the Icon service department first through a chat session with [redacted] on 9/12/11. He did not have much information, but said he thought it was an allen wrench of unknown size. He gave me a telephone number to call:[redacted]. When I called and repeated my story, asking for the tool to tighten the screw, I was told that they did not sell any parts and that I should be able to get a allen wrench set that would probably have one that fit. I asked if others had this problem and the person said it happens “rarely” and that they recommend that you check all screws periodically. I believe they should provide the proper wrench with this equipment and more prominently state that it needs tightening on a regular basis.
