The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

    The product, in the report: Nautilus SelectTech Dumbbell set, model ND-522 - serial #s 3116M 0110 & 3116M 0067

I own a pair of Nautilus SelectTech Dumbbells, Model ND-522 (Serial #s 3116M 0110; 3116M 0067) that previous owners have reported as defective. Now, one of these dumbbells has the 3rd plate fall out when I select a 15 lb weight. Also, the 1st and 3rd plates fall out when I select the 17.5 lb weight. This creates a dangerous situation as the falling plates may injure the user. So, I had to stop using these dumbbells. The manufacturer (Nautilus) has neither corrected this problem nor offered any replacement dumbbells or repair parts.

The product, in the report: Nautilus NT-CC1 Smith Machine with Cable Crossover

I am an experiences trainer and was working out in my home gym. While doing a leg press exercise on the Nautilus NT-CC1 Smith Machine, as I have done many times in the past, the bench unexpectedly collapsed into the decline position and the bar bell, with 150 lbs, fell onto my head. I spent 30 days in ICU and almost died. I had a fractured skull and a traumatic brain injury.
