Hurt, no treatment Made Apr 28, 2026, sent to the company May 1, 2026, published by CPSC May 15, 2026
The product, in the report: Tzumi Fit Rx smartbell quick weights serial number KK213498361
Tzumi FitRx weight plates dislodging during use. I initially contacted both Walmart and TZUMI corporation and both told me I was outside of my 30 day return time. Now I see theres a recall, but unfortunately, the serial number of mine is not included in the recall again I contacted both the manufacturer and Walmart today and both are telling me I cannot return the weights. The weight plate falls off and comes to lodge and has hit my wife in the foot, causing a bruise. These weights are dangerous and more of them need to be looked into besides the serial numbers that are currently listed in your recall.

Hurt, no treatment Made Apr 27, 2026, sent to the company Apr 30, 2026, published by CPSC May 14, 2026
The product, in the report: FitRx SmartBell Quick-Select Adjustable Dumbbell
While performing flat barbell-style chest presses with a FitRx SmartBell Quick-Select Adjustable Dumbbell set to 52.5 lbs, one of the weight plates became dislodged from the dumbbell mid-rep and fell directly onto my face. The plate detached without warning while the dumbbell was being held overhead in normal pressing position. The product involved was the FitRx SmartBell Quick-Select Adjustable Dumbbell (manufactured by Tzumi Electronics), the same model identified in the recall notice for impact hazards caused by plates dislodging during use. I was the sole user of the product and was using it as intended for a standard strength-training exercise (chest press) on a yoga mat. The dumbbell was set to I believe 52.5 lbs on the product’s adjustment dial, and the plates appeared properly seated before the lift began. As a result of the plate falling onto my face from arm’s length above, I sustained deep bruising and facial injury from the impact, including a mark that has persisted and seems permanent. The injury occurred because the weight plate failed to remain secured to the dumbbell handle during normal use, allowing it to fall freely onto my face while I was in a vulnerable supine position underneath the weight.

First aid Made Aug 24, 2025, sent to the company Aug 27, 2025, published by CPSC Sep 11, 2025
The product, in the report: FitRx SmartBell XL Quick-Select Adjustable Dumbbells (1090 lbs., Model 8361)
On July 6, 2025, my son was using a FitRx SmartBell XL Quick-Select Adjustable Dumbbell (Model 8361) when the adjustable weight mechanism failed and a plate detached during normal lifting. The plate struck him in the face, causing a large gash along his nose and two black eyes. The dumbbells were being used as intended for home exercise. Since this product is already under recall for plates detaching, I am reporting this injury to ensure it is documented with the CPSC.
