The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: 2 pound ankle weights
A couple of hours after opening this product my wife and I started to sneeze and cough. It’s allergy season here in CA so we thought it was the usual cause-pollen from the pine trees in the back yard. However, a few hours later our home had filled with a strong chemical odor like chemical solvent or other manufacturing chemical.
My wife holds a PhD in chemistry and, while she couldn’t identify the odor to a specific chemical, was reasonably certain the smell was coming from a chemical solvent used in manufacturing. After a few hours the odor grew strong enough to lead us to these leg weights.
We put them outside and aired out the house. Our sneezing and coughing stopped in a short time so we did not seek medical attention.
The leg weights are sold under the name DaVinci and are made in China. The vendor supplying the product to amazon is ChipsAndGames out of Atlanta Georgia.
Amazon will, of course, take them back. However, these shouldn’t be sold with this chemical residue in them-whatever it is.
