The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

No incident, no one hurt Made Feb 27, 2023, sent to the company Mar 2, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 16, 2023
The product, in the report: 25 lb Adjustable Dumbbell Set, black, from Cap Barbell
While using the CAP Barbell 25 lb Adjustable Dumbbell Set as intended (arm workout), one of the metal weight plates fell off with no warning, luckily missing the user’s head but obviously that could’ve been dangerous if it hit any part of the body and given the dumbbells are often raised above the user’s head, a head injury is possible.
A piece of plastic that’s supposed to hold the weight plates also fell off. You can tell it just cracked and sperated from the main part of the dumbbell.
They were being used by a 35 year old. I’ve owned them for 1 year and they were only used about once per week, which is infrequent for dumbbells. They were never dropped or had any indications of damage before the incident.
Online reviews on Walmart show at least 31 users who also had the weight plates fall.

First aid Made Jul 19, 2022, sent to the company Jul 22, 2022, published by CPSC Aug 5, 2022
The product, in the report: CAP Barbell 25lb, adjustable dumbbell weights
When I started using my CAP Barbell 25lb adjustable dumbbell weights the weight plates dislodged, when I rotated them to left them above my head, and the plates fell from 5 feet one hitting my head and one smashing my foot and severely bruising both areas. I attempted to reinsert the plates, to test if it was just user error and without raising them more than a couple feet and rotating the weights, several more plates dislodged without requires movement of locking device.
