No one hurt Made Jun 14, 2025, sent to the company Jun 18, 2025, published by CPSC Jul 3, 2025
The product, in the report: It is an Aiper Elite Pro cordless pool vacuum.
I plugged in my Aiper pool robot to charge at approx. 3pm last night. That evening while sleeping, around midnight, my wife and were awakened by a loud bang. Then as we were getting out of bed to go check, we heard another loud bang. As we descended the stairs, we could smell smoke. When we entered the kitchen, we could see the fire billowing up from the Aiper pool vac. I quickly grabbed the cord, unplugged it, and threw it on the cement deck outside. I then grabbed the hose and hosed it down. We put the fire out but suffered extensive soot all over the house. It burned our granite countertops causing it to split, scorched the floor, and scorched our kitchen cabinets. But we count ourselves lucky that no one was hurt.

The product, in the report: Robotic pool vacuum
My Aiper Seagull Pro robotic pool vacuum cleaner’s charger overheats to the point of nearly melting. I have trouble charging it and getting it to work. I believe I may have seen smoke coming from it or the unit itself.
