The product, in the report: Ridington 24V Kids Electric Go Kart with Drift Function- Red HLY 8888
My child powered on their 24V Ridington Go Kart purchased directly from bigtoysdirect.com and the battery compartment started smoking heavily. The child was quickly removed and the kart was dragged out of the garage where the unit suffered a catastrophic thermal failure and caught on fire, flames exiting the battery compartment and engulfing the backrest of the seat. The unit had to be hosed down with water to put out the fire. No injuries occurred.
