The product, in the report: jetson go kart electric volt
To Whom It May Concern, I am filing this formal complaint against Jetson regarding a persistent and dangerous manufacturing defect in their go-karts. Since November 2024, I have cycled through multiple units, all of which have suffered the exact same catastrophic failure: a bent or snapped rear axle. Summary of Events Initial Purchase: I purchased two Jetson go-karts in November 2024. Due to winter weather, they were first used in early 2025. Initial Failures: By mid-2025, the rear axles on both original units bent so severely they became unusable. Jetson initially claimed they could not assist as the units were out of stock and parts were not sold separately. I was forced to purchase a third unit locally just to harvest parts for repairs. Warranty Replacements: After a formal complaint, Jetson provided two replacement units in October/November 2025. Current Status: Within weeks of receiving the replacements, both new units suffered the exact same rear axle failure. In total, I have witnessed five separate axle failures across multiple units. Safety Concerns and Injury The manufacturer specifies a weight limit of 150 lbs. My children, ages 10 and 12, weigh 70 lbs and 87 lbs respectively, well below the rated capacity. Despite operating within all safety guidelines, these axles have failed abruptly. Most recently, the axle on a replacement unit bent so violently at 14 mph that the wheel locked instantly. This caused my son to be thrown forward, striking his face on the steering wheel. This resulted in a significant black eye, despite the fact that he was wearing a helmet. Photos of the injury and the failed hardware have been provided to Jetson. Failure of Resolution Jetson has acknowledged they manufacture these axles themselves. However, after five failures, it is clear that this is a design flaw that renders the product “unfit for its intended purpose” under consumer protection laws. Jetson has currently only offered a store credit for one unit. I no longer have confidence in the safety of Jetson products and refuse to risk my childrens safety for “store credit.” A replacement or credit is not an acceptable resolution for a product that has proven to be dangerous. Desired Resolution I am seeking a full refund for the original purchase price of the two go-karts. I am willing to return all units and parts to the manufacturer at their expense. Given the recurring nature of this failure and the resulting physical injury, I am also requesting that this matter be reviewed for a potential safety recall to prevent further injuries to other children.
