The product, in the report: GREHUA 4” Rear Drum Brake Band & Steel Sprocket Hub Kit for Go Kart Cart Drift Trike Mini Bike Dune Buggy Quad ATV Predator 212cc 196cc 5.5hp 6.5hp Parts Axle Rod Mounting Set 3/4” Bore 3/16” Keyway
Product: GREHUA 4” Rear Drum Brake Band & Steel Sprocket Hub Kit for Go Kart Cart Drift Trike Mini Bike Dune Buggy Quad ATV Predator 212cc 196cc 5.5hp 6.5hp Parts Axle Rod Mounting Set 3/4” Bore 3/16” Keyway Sold on Amazon. This is a brake kit for go karts or other small moving platforms. The safety of this brake kit relies on the hub attachment to the shaft and the brake band attachment to the frame. A set screw that keeps the key in the keyway that locks the shaft to the hub that is used to stop the motion of the machine is not there. The key can, and in my case, did fall out causing the the rigid connection between the shaft and hub to possibly fail by allowing the hub to spin on the shaft. This set screw, although shown correctly in the picture, was located in the wrong place and there is no way to keep the key in the keyway. If that key falls out, as it did in my case, the brake which the driver relies on to stop can be useless and possibly cause a crash. I avoided the crash scenario because I was watching for that very problem. I reported it to Amazon and the seller, both of who have done nothing to stop selling that defective brake kit. Amazon 100% agreed with my concerns and said they would investigate but appears they did not. The seller just ignored me completely. This product can be dangerous to someone making a DIY motion machine like a go kart or scooter if they are not aware that it was made wrong and could possibly put them in danger.
