The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Aug 3, 2021, sent to the company Aug 5, 2021, published by CPSC Aug 19, 2021

The product, in the report: Weber Spirit SP-320

I bought a Weber Spirit 320 gas grill around 2009. Almost immediately a green mold showed up on the stainless cooking grill and the flavor bars. It took Weber almost a year to replace them. THe mold immediately returned on the replacement parts.

Meanwhile the aluminum box warped out of shape, and the stainless steel inside the lid started crumbling to scale, often falling on the food being cooked.

The grease catcher tray on the bottom rusted off, so now it falls down into the grill base.

The bottom has rusted through, and the legs are rusted and failing.

We just rebuilt our deck, and are afraid to use this product on our new $25,000 deck.

I have a 30 and 40 year old Weber when they were still made in USA that are both in better and safer condition than this piece of junk.

The product, in the report: Weber Genesis E-320

Failure of a Weber Genesis E-320 I am writing to notify you of a serious problem I experienced with my Weber Genesis E-320 on April 16, 2011. The lower left side of the grill melted! I don’t really know how to explain what happened, except to say that the aluminum casing has a very large hole in it, and that there are dried puddles of aluminum in the bottom of my grill. This causes me great concern as aluminum has a melting point of over 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. How can a grill get that hot? How can this be safe?
