The product, in the report: Pit Boss PBV4PS2 vertical smoker

Grill/Smoker caught fire, No injuries. Unit damaged. The unit was being used IAW the manufacturer instructions. I started smoking meat, set the unit up. All was going fine. I checked the control panel and it was showing a auger error. I noted the labels on the back of the unit was turning brown from excess heat and that the area around the hopper clean out was warped. I had to get gloves to open the hopper and when I did flame shot out and up the back of the unit. Pellets on fire poured onto the ground. I open the top of the hopper and flame shot out. I grabbed the hose and started putting out the fire.

The product, in the report: Pit Boss Lockhart

It has happened twice now. The latest was yesterday 10/24/2022. My Pit Boss Lockhart has turned on twice when it was raining outside. The rain would hit the power button and com on. We were inside and noticed that there was smoke coming from the grill. I went out and the temperature was over °160. I had to unplug the grill. Like I said it has happened twice while it was raining. I contacted Pit Boss about the defect and they said that it was my fault because I left it plugged in. I stated that the on/ off button was to sensitive and needs to be corrected. They said nothing was wrong with the button I just need to unplug it.
