The product, in the report: Char-Broil GRILL2GO X200 Model number12401734. Regulator. (Model number of regulator not specified in Instruction Manual.

    I purchased a Char-Broil GRILL2GO X200. Model number 12401734 from Camping World. This order was dated 13 Sept 2016.

This grill is a table-top grill and is used and stored in my Recreational Vehicle (RV). I started a trip in the RV on 12 May 2018 and I noticed the odor of Propane gas in the vehicle. I checked the vehicle LP gas system and found no problem. I assumed the odor was from my starting the refrigerator. Later that night at my first stop when I opened the basement compartment where the Grill is stored, the odor was very strong. Inspection revealed that the Grill gas regulator valve was leaking. It can not be completely turned off. I checked with Char-Broil and discovered the valve type on my unit has been replaced with a redesigned valve, but it was not available. I called the help desk and the gentleman said I would have to call the company as ask for a replacement. He gave me the new part number. I did that, and now a new valve is supposedly enroute to me. I will be charged for the new valve plus shipping.

There has been no recall on this potentially explosive safety hazard. I hope this alert will have some postiive effect.
