The product, in the report: Weber 3721001 3 Burner Gas Grill E-310 Spirit Grill

We fired up our Weber E-310 to preheat it before cooking chicken breasts. Roughly five minutes later, I went out to check on the grill and found the area under the control board full of flames. I was able to quickly reach under and get the main propane valve shut off. The controls, hoses, etc are burned beyond repair. The grill is shot. Scary considering the grill sat on a new Cedar deck attached to the house. Another minute or two and we would have had a serious fire to wrestle. Is there a recall? I see this is a repeated problem reported. Next steps?

The product, in the report: Weber Spirit 210 2-burner gas (propane) grill

My Weber Spirit 210 grill caught on fire two weeks ago, 6/28/2013. It was not a grease fire. The fire was under the control knob area and the flames were coming out of the right rear area where the gas line enters. My father had been using the grill at our house the week before and mentioned he was worried about flames from the back. I opened up the Weber after that, took out the grate, flavorizer bars (they are both new this year) and looked around for any debris, etc. I also had cleaned the grease pan and ensured nothing was in there.

I had lit the grill and was playing with our dog for a minute. As it was still coming up to temperature, I went in side for ~5 mins, when I came out flamers were coming out of the back right area of the grill (under the control knob table and the back knob had already started to melt. I quickly reached under, avoiding the flames and turned off the gas at the tank. The flames went out in the grill when the gas was shut off, but one of the knobs was actually on fire. Fortunately, I saw the fire before it burned through the gas supply hose. The fire burned the control knobs, the ignition wiring and it appears to have scorched the gas supply hose from the gas fuel tank.

I contacted Weber and they asked me to send photos, which I have done. I am concerned that this is a safety issue that could result in a home fire, or possibly an explosion if other consumers experience the same issue.
