On November 19, 2022, [REDACTED] was using a new Nexgrill gas grill model number 720-0830X that had only been used a few times and owned a few months. He noticed the grill was not heating. [REDACTED] tapped on the regulator when the grill exploded and burst into high flames that almost burnt the house down. [REDACTED] threw the grill from the driveway to the yard to get it away from the house. We had to call 911 and have them send the fire department to put the fire out. Flames were up to 10-15 feet high and continued for several minutes. We have video evidence. There was some burn damage to the siding on the house and the HVAC unit as well as personal injury damage to his shoulder and back from throwing the grill. (The shoulder had a previously injury that was aggravated) Nexgrill has denied both a refund and any compensation for ongoing PT sessions, claiming the burden was on him to test and inspect his grill before every use. The video we have pretty much speaks for itself. If a consumer is obligated to do a thorough review every time they use an expensive product to avoid being blown up or burnt or having the house burnt down, then something is clearly wrong with the product. It seems Nexgrill has had regulator issues in the past as recalled by the CPSC and it further seems they have not remedied the matter.

Nexgrill brand 48” griddle #720-0786 was purchased in July 2020. In April 2021 it was being used just outside the garage when the propane gas hose failed and caused a fire. I suffered a burn injury when attempting to shut off the gas supply, but the flames were too intense. I was able to put out the fire with two extinguishers and garden hose. Had I not been right next to the griddle when the fuel hose failed, or not had quick access to fire extinguishers, this event would have resulted in major property damage and potentially significant injury or death.

I am appalled to do some research that back in 2005 Home Depot recalled this exact some grill that my husband was using that nearly blow up his face or possibly caught my house on fire. The same thing that it was being recalled for was happening to my husbands grill. I purchased the grill about two years ago for my husband as a father’s day gift. The grill has given him nothing but trouble. The hose that connects the propane tank kept coming off. On September 28th my husband went to start the grill and the flame was low so he went under where the propane tank is and seen that the hose unconnected. He tried connecting the hose back to the tank, when the tank caught fire nearly singeing his eyebrows, eye lashes, beard and arm hairs. Thank GOD he didn’t catch on fire nor catching my house on fire. Please DO NOT try to send a replacement kit, AS WE WILL NEVER BUY A NEX GRILL AGAIN.

Was cooking ribeye steak on a Nexgrill 730-0830H 4 burner grill when grease fire ignited with flames escaping lower tray, engulfing the lower cabinet as the capacity of the lower grill pan for grease was insufficient. The lower cabinet is where the LP tank is stored. Flames melted the coupler on the gas hose. We smothered the flame with a blanket to avert a catastrophe.

I was using my Nexgrill (model # 720-0864) gas grill to make dinner just now. I set the heat to low and went in the house to cut vegetables. I came out 5 minutes later to check the grill and it was SCORCHING hot. I was barefoot and noticed the cement in front of it was hot, the patio chair near it was hot, the flowers along the fence behind it were hot. I opened the grill lid and the flame was low where I had set it but the heat was unbearable. The cooking grates were light gray instead of their normal dark black. The inside of the lid was burned as well as the front and sides of the outside of the lid. I knew I had to immediately turn off the gas under the grill and the nozzle of the gas tank was hot! I hurt my hand but had to turn off the gas so the thing didn’t blow up! I’ve never seen such a thing in my whole life and I’ve been grilling on gas grills for almost 20 years. The temperature gage on the grill was all the way over to the right even though I had the flame set on low! I am absolutely shocked - I could have been seriously injured or killed just now trying to grill our dinner. Thank God I didn’t pull the grill near my house or car. I have pictures of the charred grill if you need them. Someone needs to document this and contact Nexgrill before someone gets hurt or killed.

On April 20, 2016 around 5:30 p.m. I was using a recently purchased gas grill from the Home Depot (Make and Model: Nexgrill #720-0830H). Upon removing the food from the grill, I went inside the house to place the cooked food in the kitchen. Moments later a jet engine sound rang out from the porch area of the house. I immediately went to the area where I saw the grill emitting flames. I attempted to pull the grill out the door of the porch area when the grill exploded burning my head, face, neck and arms. Fire department and ambulance reported to the scene. I was transported to the hospital burn unit. I have found multiple complaints and issues regarding the design of the grill that have been reported online. It has been banned in Canada. It is still available for purchase at the Home Depot. Please take this product off the market before another family’s life is changed forever or even worse, lives are needlessly ended.

We purchased a Nexgrill 3-Burner Gas grill from Sears Item #07116162000 (KSN#: 3997487) This grill continually catches fire. The bottom inside of the grill, right under the grates where it catches things catches fire all the time. I am not sure if it is just not deep enough etc... but we have had nothing but fires with this grill. The most recent fire was so intense it chard the sofit on our home. It is very hard to cook anything on this grill because as you are pre heating it catches fire even.

The consumer says he was cooking when the unit got so hot he couldnt go near it. Consumer says it burned his hand and his neck. Consumer says the knobs were no hot they are welded open and he could not turn them off. The consumer says the manufacturer sent an inspector to view the unit. The manufacturer told him his grill was dirty and did not offer any assistance. Consumer has same product as Release #06-174. He says the manufacturer has pictures of unit and documents of incident.
