The product, in the report: Members Mark Pro Series 4-Burner Gas Grill with Thermostatic Control

We received Members Mark Pro Series 4-Burner Gas Grill with Thermostatic Control grill as a Christmas gift last year, and just 8 months into using it has started to leak gas, and goes through an entire propane bottle in one sitting. We have reached out to Sam’s Club for help and because since it was a gift they wont replace. Seems like a very dangerous defect.

    Model gr2210601-mm-00 Serial number 313161000575533

The grill was assembled by sams clubs associates when we purchased it. We have had repeated issues with getting the grill to start and remain lit. We have had two incidents that the grill has emitted a fireball of flames when attempting to light it. The last incident involved my husband sustaining sever burns on his face and hands. 1st and 2nd degree burns. The last fire caused two of the knobs to melt, after the grill actually caught on fire. We had to use a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. Item that were damaged:

2 control knob bezel. Part number 8 1 grill body-hose regulator assembly. Part number 4v 2 control knob/side burner control knob. Part number 9

The product, in the report: Member’s Mark Red Patio Grill. Small gas grill Item #483487 Model 3GR2001402-MM Purchased at Sam’s Club in Abilene, TX

I Purchased a Member’s Mark Red Patio Grill, Item # 483487 Model # GR2991402-MM at my local Sam’s Club for my husband for Father’s Day. At first I was please with the size and I loved the red color. We had only used the grill less then a half dozen times total when today we fired it up to grill some sausage. I stepped into the house to grab the food and by the time I got back outside the grill was up in flames. The gas container was engulfed in flames and as I watched in horror the entire grill went up. There were flames over 10 feet high and came within inches of both the house and a newly built wooden Ramada. We call 911 but by the time the firemen got there it was starting to burn itself. For a while we were concerned that it would explode and were fearful for the pets in the vicinity. The heat and noise were terrifying. I’m still shaking as I write this. Beware! Do not purchase this gas grill!

The product, in the report: Members Mark Grill Model #720-0691A

I was called out to investigate a propane grill fire. Fire was determined to be accidental in nature with fire starting near propane cylinder and most likely from a leak in the hose from the cylinder to the burner. Grill was a “Member’s Mark” brand model #720-0691A. Owner believed grill to be only a few years old and was operating normal prior to fire. Propane cylinder was DOT 4BA 240 M4875 and was last filled at Agland Inc, w/o incident. Owner did not have internet service and asked that I file the report for them. I informed the owner to keep the grill and propane cylinder for several weeks in case they were contacted by CPSC. Owner’s name is [REDACTED].
