The product, in the report: Jetboil personal cooking system
I purchased the “Jetboil-Zip Cooking System” last year. I used it successfully 3 times. Last month, the stove malfunctioned on my 4th attempt. I was in the Adirondacks backpacking with friends. I was relying on the Jetboil stove to heat water. After setting up the stove and attempting to light it, the flames shot out around the stove. Fire was coming directly from the fuel canister and encircling the stove in a tall fire. I was afraid that the fuel canister was going to explode and catch our tent, or our faces, on fire, or worse - start a forest fire. We got the stove detached from the fuel canister using a stick and our boots and doused everything with water. It was horrible. The stove had malfunctioned, though it previously worked, leading me to believe that there is a material in the stove that cannot stand up to heat and use, therefore allowing it to malfunction over time.
