No incident, no one hurt Made Jun 24, 2023, sent to the company Jul 12, 2023, published by CPSC Jul 26, 2023
The product, in the report: Six burner gas grill with side burner purchased from the Tractor Supply Company in Vernon, CT, but the rep said they all come like that so obviously this is a state, and/or national safety issue.
Copied from the report I filed with the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection:
I purchased a gas grill from the Tractor Supply Company in [REDACTED], CT on 5/19/23. It came fully assembled. A few days after I decided to grill, and hooked up the propane. For some reason the grill would not light, and I could not figure out why. I looked underneath, and the hose for the regulator was kinked as it was bent at a 90-degree angle. I called the store to see if they had one from another grill they could swap out. They did not. I spoke with [REDACTED] in customer service who transferred me to [REDACTED] who put the grill together. He said that “They all come in like that” and there was nothing he could do. So, he’s telling me that every grill they have is defective, and a safety hazard, and the only way for it to work is to take a hose bend it back creating even more stress on an already defective part that will eventually break. This is a safety hazard that can result in an explosion. I contacted the [REDACTED] Fire Marshal’s office. While they agreed with me they could not help as they are in charge of grills assembled in a store. If It was in my house in [REDACTED] they could do something about it, but I live in [REDACTED]. So I’m writing to this department to investigate, and take corrective action not only on this store, but apparently ever single Tractor Supply Company in Connecticut as if these grills all “come in this way” it is a safety issue, and an explosion waiting to happen. I am attaching pictures of the receipt, and damaged regulator in the uploads.
I previously contacted the CT Department of Consumer Protection, but they said to contact you.
