The product, in the report: portable gas grill

(08/02/2016) The consumer stated that he was cooking on the grill. He went inside for a few minutes. About 10 minutes later he looked out and saw flames on the top lid.

The consumer went outside and shut the gas on the product. The consumer was able to blow the fire out.

(08/04/2016) The consumer contacted the firm. He was advised to send photos. The photos were sent to [REDACTED]. The consumer did not receive a response.

The consumer was cooking on this brand new BBQ a steak right in front of a kitchen window that looks out over the porch along the front of his house. He went inside to prepare the rest of his meal. He could see small flare ups from grease dripping on the burner cover. About 8 to 10 minutes he noticed a fire that did not look like a grease flare up. He went out to get a better look and that’s when he notice the back of the BBQ lid was on fire. He turned the propane gas valve off but the fire did not go out. He was able to put it out by just blowing on it. He removed his steak and that’s when he realized the BBQ lid had burned on the inside and continued up the lid to the top on the outside. The consumer had to send the BBQ to Suntech Parts and Service Inc. of Canada to get a complete cash refund.
