Emergency room Made May 2, 2023, sent to the company May 3, 2023, published by CPSC May 17, 2023
The product, in the report: Trekassy 700lb Giant 60” Platform Tree Swing for Kids and Adults Waterproof with Durable Steel Frame and 2 Hanging Straps
My eight year old daughter and two ten year old girls with a combined weight of less than 200 lbs were on this swing when the straps gave and they collapsed hard. My daughters leg got impaled by the eye screw bolt underneath the swing and need to be rushed to the ER where she received 5 large stitches to hold her leg tissue back in. The hole was large enough to sick an adult finger in. One ten year old girl was taken to a walk-in clinic because her foot got crushed underneath. Thankfully the third child was unharmed.

No one hurt Made Nov 28, 2021, sent to the company Nov 30, 2021, published by CPSC Dec 14, 2021
The product, in the report: Trekassy 440lbs 2 Seat Swing Set, 1 Saucer Swing Seat and 1 Belt Swing Seat with Heavy Duty A-Frame Metal Swing Stand. 90.5” wide by 67” deep by 71” high. Green painted metallic swing set. I cannot find serial number, UPC code, date manufactured, or manufacturer date code. Model DR0589C-A08
We purchased a Trekassy Model DR0589C-A08 metal swing set on Amazon.com around August 6, 2021. We didn’t assemble it until late October 2021, however. The manufacturer claims this model will work fine for larger kids and adults, which is why we bought it. Our son who uses it weighs around 90 pounds. They claim it can handle up to 440 pounds. We assembled it and anchored it to the ground using the ground anchors it came with. Within a few days, two of the legs had sunk into the ground, causing the swing set to become unstable and the anchors loose. To keep it from sinking, I installed flat pieces of wood on each leg (secured them with lag screws to the leg) and then anchored the wood to the ground. Even with this, it was still not very stable but was usable. After a few more days of use, one of the feet on the leg broke off at the welds, and a second one was ready to break off. This of course caused it to be very unstable as one leg was no longer anchored to the ground. So after only a couple weeks, this has failed completely with a 90-pound kid using it (far below its stated capacity). Fortunately, my son was not hurt. However, if the other leg had also broken, I’m not sure what would have happened. It could have fallen over - who knows. I am worried that if other people use this product, it may fail and cause an injury due to falling.
