The product, in the report: Swing-N-Slide bracket
Hello, This June 24th I purchased Swing-N-Slide bracket from Amazon to replace the original bracket that came with the kit with I purchased it 9-10 years ago. Tonight (less than a month after buying it) my 10 year old daughter was on the swing and one of the brackets completely snapped sending her hard into the ground. She is fine for now ( bumps and bruises) but this could have been so much worse. She is under the weight limit of 115lbs. After inspecting the broken bracket I noticed that the other bracket’s plastic grommet is already worn out and is wearing out the metal bracket…which looks like what happened on the one that broke. The reason I replaced these brackets is the grommets wore out on the original one… but after nearly 10 years not a month! Swing-N-Slide is a legit company so I’m not sure if it is poor products or Amazon selling knock off products as Swing N Slide. Either way some child is going to get hurt! Thanks for listening! The product, in the report: Children’s Swing Set, Pine Bluff, consumer reporting on the safety of the cargo net
The consumer said his grandson climbed up the cargo net and as he climbed up to the top, the wood rung disintegrated. His 8-year-old grandson fell approximately 7 feet. He was not injured. He contacted the retailer who did not offer any assistance. He contacted then the manufacturer who he sent pictures to and explained what happened. They replied by stating that the ladder may have been built in a damp area. The consumer says this is not the case. The manufacturer offered to send him a new unit. the consumer’s issue is not with the swing set itself but the cargo net.
