The product, in the report: Product: Sportspower Everest 9.5’ Metal Swing Set with 3 Belt Swings
I purchased a swing set from Wayfair. Product: Sportspower Everest 9.5’ Metal Swing Set. Within a month of owning and using the swing set for my two autistic kids the middle bar has collapsed. There are other reviews on Wayfair noting the same issues. No one was injured yet but would have been if my husband had not seen the extensive damage.

The product, in the report: Sportspower Super Saucer Metal Swing Set with 2 Swings, 2-Person Saucer & 5ft Slide with Lifetime Warranty, Outdoor Backyard Fun for Kids 3-8, BONUS Anchor Kit
On August 5, 2026, my three-year-old son was playing on the swing set when he struck the crown of his head on the exposed metal bolt/fastener. The impact caused a deep scalp laceration that required me to call 911. He received staples in his head at our local children’s Hospital.

Hurt, care not known Made Jun 16, 2014, sent to the company Jun 25, 2014, published by CPSC Jul 10, 2014
The product, in the report: Sportspower 6 Station Swing Set, Model MSC-3788-5S. Blue and white swingset with 2 swings, a hanging bar, a 2 person glider, and a blue and yellow slide.
In April 2014 we purchased a new Sportspower 6 Station swing set, model MSC-3788-5S. After only using it a few times, one of the swings broke with my 3 year old son in it and he fell flat on his back on the ground.
The problem occurred where the chain attached to the top of the swing seat. There is a hook at the end of the chain that attaches to a loop on the top of the seat. That hook was too open, allowing the loop on the seat to come out. There was a lot of assembly required with this swing set, but this particular connection was factory built. It appears that it was defective from the factory, but there was a plastic covering on the chain that also covered that connection, so we could not see the defect.
Fortunately my son was barely swinging when the swing broke, so he only fell a couple of feet. Had he been swinging higher he could have been seriously hurt.

No one hurt Made Apr 18, 2012, sent to the company Apr 26, 2012, published by CPSC May 10, 2012
The product, in the report: Cameron 4 leg 5 station swing set Item# 004W016369840001
We purchased the Cameron 4 leg 5 station swing set less than two years ago. (Manufacturer: SportsPower, Ltd. Model # MSC27695LDKM) The day before yesterday, my 5 1/2 year old son was swinging on the glide ride portion of the swing. One of the plastic brackets on the top of the glide ride cracked and the bolt at the top broke off. The pole came out of the swing set frame and my son fell off the glide ride on to the ground. He was not injured but possibly could have been. We understand certain things only have limited warranties attached to them, but when one is dealing with children’s safety, better parts should be made. A swing set should not fall apart after less than two years when it has been used appropriately. My son has only used the swing set as a swing and nothing else. One of the metal ground anchors also broke a few months ago, which my husband has since replaced. Both plastic swings have broken as well, and luckily our son brought it to our attention before the swings totally broke where he could have been injured.

First aid Made Sep 22, 2011, sent to the company Sep 30, 2011, published by CPSC Oct 17, 2011
The product, in the report: SPORTSPOWER “TIMBER” PLAYSET MODEL # WP-258-SS. Sold at Kmart. Three swings, Slide, Climbing wall, Tented tower.
We purchased a SportsPower “Timber” playset model # WP-258-SS from Kmart in Scottsbluff NE during the week of March 1, 2011 for my daughters 4th birthday. We properly assembled and, used the playset for 6 months. On September 21, 2011 my daughter was swinging, as she does every day, when the top wooden bean that holds all three swings broke and collapsed sending my daughter to the ground. Thankfully she just bruised her butt, but my concern is for future incidents that could be fatal to an other child that may experiene this same problem. I hope the manufacturer is advised of this problem from another source a well as myself, so this problem can be fixed.
