The product, in the report: SELEWARE Silent Ball Bearing Swing Hanger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YW8V2D3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share UPC ASIN: B07YW8V2D
I purchased SELEWARE Silent Ball Bearing Swing Hanger off amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YW8V2D3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) on 7/10/21 for use with little tike disc swing in the basement of our home. The hanger was delivered on 7/12/21 and installed per manufacturer instructions on 7/13/21. On 7/16/21, my two daughters were in our basement taking turns on the rope swing with the new swing hanger. My 8 year was pushing my 5 year old in a counter clockwise fashion when all of a sudden the hanger detached from the ball bearing. My daughter fell along with the swing and landed on her foot which resulted in a fracture of her first metatarsal. Fortunately she did not hit any walls or kids standing around which could have lead to a catastrophic injury. After evaluating the swing hanger, it appears that the hanger is simply a screw that goes into the ball bearing. When my daughter was swinging around counter clockwise, the screw slowly worked its way out of the ball bearing until it was fully unscrewed from the ball bearing and detached resulting in my daughter and the swing to fall. When I purchased the item, I assumed that the ball bearing was welded/permanently attached to the ball bearing but this was not the case. I’m not sure if I simply received a bad product or if this is something that could happen to all of these hangers. This product is promoted for tire swings and for it’s durability “360 rotating” design. With the current design, I’m concerned that many more accidents (potentially more detrimental) may occur if left on the market and promoted the way that it is currently being promoted.
