No one hurt Made May 10, 2011, published by CPSC Jun 8, 2011
The product, in the report: 6 legged metal swingset made in China but swings say Playsafe out of Wisconsin Product bought at Toys R Us. Can be found on their website under metal swingsets
Purchased the Playsafe Dartmouth metal swingset from Toys R Us on April 16, 2011. The swingset is only 3 weeks old. The young child who weighs only about 45-50 lbs was swinging when the swing snapped in half in mid air. Thank goodness the little girl did not get hurt. The swing was not flawed but apparently it is made of too rigid of a material and just snapped in half under pressure. The swingset was made in China but the swings are marked Playsafe out of Wisconsin so not sure if that info will help or not. If you go to the Toys R Us website, it is listed being the first swingset under the metal swingset heading (Playsafe Dartmouth) I did call Toys R Us to report this incident and was told it would take 7 to 10 days to get back to me over this complaint. I am not happy as first of all, another little child could be getting injured in this 7 to 10 days waiting period and also I am afraid that it will not be seriously looked into. In the meantime, I am going out and buying different swings and replacing the remainder one that came with this unsafe swingset.
