Hurt, care not known Made Mar 19, 2012, sent to the company Apr 27, 2012, published by CPSC May 11, 2012
The product, in the report: Six leg Swing Set w/2 swings, slide, 4 person seated swing, two person swing, rings & seesaw.
Caller purchased six leg swing set March 2010.
Sometime around September 2010 caller’s five year old daughter was swinging on one of the swings when the seat portion of the swing broke sending the child falling to the ground, luckily not causing any more harm than a scratch or bruise.
Caller contacted the manufacturer a couple of weeks later when she learned that there was a recall. She was told that her model was not recalled and that there was nothing they could do for her.
Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 caller had friends over for a visit when while the friends daughter was swinging the swing broke, causing again no injury. The child stated that she thought she felt the seat giving so she hung onto the chains very tightly.
Caller again contacted manufacturer March 19th, 2012 and was again informed that her model is not on recall and there is nothing they can do for her.
She is contacting the Consumer Protection Safety Commission asking for assistance in alerting the public and trying to encourage the manufacturer if they have a safer swing seat please replace her’s with the safer one at manufacturer expense.

No one hurt Made Aug 30, 2011, sent to the company Sep 8, 2011, published by CPSC Oct 12, 2011
The product, in the report: Pacific Cycle Swing Set
I just received an email about the recall on the Pacific Cycle Swing Sets Due to Fall Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Toys R Us, http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml11/11313.html.
We have this swing set, in and older model (2008-9). The set is exactly the same except it has a slightly different horse swing. The slide, glider, swings and hanging play bar are exactly the same and our swings have cracks in them at the edges, just like the recalled ones. My husband and I were just discussing what to do about them. Then I saw the recall. I recommend you expand the recall to include other years with the same issue. I bought it at Toys-r-us.
